A long, important letter handwritten by the Rebbe Rabbi Shlomo Ben Zion of Chernobyl. The letter recalls the spiritual hardships of raising children in America. A special, historical letter.
The letter was sent from America in 1928.
The Rebbe Rabbi Shlomo Ben Zion of Chernobyl (1870-1940), the son of Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl. After his father's death in 1883, when he was thirteen years old, he became Rebbe and was titled "Ha'Yanuka Mi'Chernobyl" (the Child of Chernobyl). He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Chodorov of Berditchev. After World War I, he travelled to the USA; yet returned to Russia because of the revulsion he felt from the materialism of the USA. His son, Rabbi Aharon, was the son-in-law of Rabbu Gedalya Moshe of Zvhil.
Letters by the Rebbe " Ha'Yanuka Mi'Chernobyl" are extremely rare!
A leaf, 20x24.5 cm. foulded into four pages.
Condition: Fair. A part of the letter us damaged and lacking due to wear.
