"Tzurat Ha'Bayit De'Yechezkel" - Illustration of the Third Temple according to the Vilna Gaon - Grodno, 1820 - First Edition - An Extremely Rare Table
A printed leaf with an illustration of the Third Temple according to the Vilna Gaon. At the head of the leaf it is written, inside the frame of an illustration of angels: "The shape of the house of Yechezkel by the Gaon the rabbi of all members of the Diaspora Eliyahu of Vilna".
Originally, the leaf was added as a folded leaf to the edition of Nevi'im and Ketuvim that was printed in Grodno in 1820 (by Menachem Mann ben Baruch [Romm] and Simcha Zimmel ben Menachem Nachum). The book was printed in four volumes and this folded leaf was added at the beginning of the fourth volume (Yechezkel and Trei Assar). The leaf is extremely rare and does not appear in most copies of the above edition of the Nevi'im and Ketuvim, not even as a single leaf like the one before us.
Does not appear in libraries at all. It is recorded by bibliographic listings only according to a single copy of the British Library (see: The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book, no. 0309647; Winograd, Otzar Sifrei Hagra, on. 24).
On the upper left corner of the leaf, the name of the publisher was printed: "These were all made by my hands Dov Ber son of Yosef Yuzpa of Vilna", who adds that he printed it to satisfy the wish of "My late exceptional son Aharon Moshe", who wanted to publish the plan of the Temple according to Vilna Gaon"
On the upper right corner, twelve clauses explaining the illustration.
43x36 cm.
Condition: Good. Stains and wear. Slight tears.
