Tanya, also known as Sefer Likutei Amarim, by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi. Zolkiew, printed by Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Leib Meir Happer, 1805 [really after 1805]. Incomplete copy.
Specifications:  2-53 leaves, missing leaves 4, 54-58, and the last leaf. 16 cm. Sha'arei Chabad 49, Mondshine, Sifrei HaTanya D.
Background: Early edition of the Tanya, printed pursuant to the Zolkiew Edition, 1805; with the title page's text, inclusive of the printing date, and "Slavuta" in embossed lettering. A similar edition is also known, and the edition before us is meticulously recorded by Mondshine p. 46, D. The copy before us reaches until the end of Part Two.
Unique Features: Extremely rare book.
Condition: Moderate. Few aging stains and worming holes. About seven pages are cut with damage to letters. Simple binding.
