Special Experience for the Jews of the Diaspora – Three-Dimensional Photographs of Land of Israel – Collection of Stereoscope Photographs of Jerusalem / Booklet of Commentary / An Original Stereoscope Device – 1906
A special item designed for the Jews of the Diaspora who wanted to experience the longed-for Land of Israel.
Before us is a complete set made for this purpose during the Ottoman period (!). The set includes three unique items:
1. Twenty seven stereoscope photographs of sites of Jerusalem. Published by Underwood & Underwood [1906]. In an original book-like case with a spine (reasonable wear). Size of photographs: 9x8cm.
2. The booklet "Jerusalem through the Stereoscope". Published by Underwood & Underwood, 1906. English, the booklet contains commentary on the photographed sites. With a (folded) map of Jerusalem. 17x13cm.
3. A stereoscope device made of wood and aluminum, with engraved decorations. Made by Underwood & Underwood, New York. Length: 32cm.
Condition: The photographs are in Very Good condition. The case and device are slightly worn.
