Letter by the Two Pious Bothers Rabbi Yissachar Leib and the Beit Avraham of Slonim

Letter handwritten and signed by the two pious bothers Rabbi Yissachar Leib Weinberg and the Beit Avraham of Slonim - written in the lifetime of their father the Divrei Shmuel of Slonim - blessings by the Beit Avraham for good livelihood and pious descendants - Slonim, between the years 1904-1915 - has not been published

This letter was written to the old Chassid the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Eliezer Hacohen Rosovsky (known as Rebe Leize).

Background of the letter. Reb Leize had a single son, Zvi, who was born in his old age (from his second marriage). Before Reb Leize passed away and knowing he was going to leave an 11-year-old orphan, he wrote a letter to his Rav the Divrei Shmuel, who dedicated his life to raising funds for the Slonim Chassidim of Tiberius. In his letter, he asks to set up a special fund for his son, which will be used to support and eventually marry his orphan son.

The Beit Avraham, on behalf of his father the Divrei Shmuel, answers that if the son continues to walk the Derech Hayashar, the Chassidim will not abandon him and will see to his Shiduch: "ילך בנו היקר והחביב שיחי' בדרך הישר והרצוי כרצון רבותיה"ק זי"ע שיהי' לתפארת אבותיו, הלא כתיב 'לא ראיתי צדיק נעזב', וחפץ לבבינו תמיד בעז"ה להיטיב לאנ"ש שיחיו בכל אשר נוכל, בטח לא נעזבנו ח"ו ונראה בעדו בכל היותר טוב, לשידוך הגון ממשפחה הגונה כפי תפארת אבותיו שיחי' וכאשר רצון השי"ת כמחז"ל בת פלוני לפלוני".  The Beit Avraham also writes that now, they cannot set up a fund since they barely manage to raise funds for their daily expenses; however, when the time comes, they will do everything possible for the orphan. He ends his letter with a blessing: "שיאריך ימיו ושנותיו ויזכה אי"ה להשיאו בעצמו להזווג הנכון והנרצה לפניו ית', ויזכה לראות ממנו עוד דור ישרים יבורך ולהיות עוד סנדק אצל בנו הנולד לו מבנו היקר שיחי'".

At the end of the letter. several lines handwritten and signed by his older brother Rabbi Yisschar Leib, writing that his brother's words are the wishes of their father: "כרצון אבי שליט"א" - the Divrei Shmuel of Slonim.
