Mishkenot L'Abir Ya'akov with a Dedication by the Author, the Renowned Chassid Rabbi Meshel Gelbstein

Sefer Mishkenot L'Abir Ya'akov Part I, "al Shemirat U'Morah Mikdash B'Zeh HaZman" by Rabbi Hillel Moshe Meshel Gelbstein. Jerusalem, 1881. First edition. Handwritten author's dedication.

The author shares his well-known opinion in this sefer at length, writing that even in our times, there must be guards on the Temple Mount for its honor and glory. The author is known to be of the opinion that despite the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash, the mitzvah written in the Torah to post guards there still stands. As is known, the author attempted with all his might to make these arrangements, and appealed to gedolei hador in many countries.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of Rabbi Hillel Moshe Meshel Gelbstein.

This sefer was written over a lengthy period. This is the first edition published by the author, with a handwritten author's dedication. Refer to: Sh. HaLevi, HaSefarim HaIvri'im SheNidpessu BiYerushalayim, Jerusalem, p. 116, no. 327.
