After 10 years of experience in the art and antiques trade, David Christian Wettmann founded the auction house on the Ruhr in 2008.Due to the numerous business contacts already in place, the first auction was a complete success and thus laid the foundation for many other auctions.The auction house on the Ruhr was able to quickly establish itself as a fixture in the national and international auction business. Four auctions take place every year in our business premises in Mülheim's old town, in the direct vicinity of the Ruhr and the Wasserbahnhof. The main focus here is on the sale of old and modern art, antiques, jewelry and luxury watches.With numerous record bids in recent years and through the sale of art collections from well-known entrepreneurial families from the Ruhr area, the auction house on the Ruhr has received a great deal of international attention. With the purchase of the villa at Friedrichstraße 67-67a - 'The Street of the Millionaires' - and the planned expansion into other cities in the Ruhr area, we will strengthen our position as local competence for the purchase and sale of art, antiques, jewelery and luxury watches in 2022 further strengthen.Our representative office at Bredeneyer Strasse 119-121 in Essen is the direct successor to the auction house L&B Kunstauktionen, which was active in Essen for over 30 years.In 2020 the name was changed to WETTMANN art auctions in the auction house on the Ruhr
