After William Hogarth: Industry and Idleness
After William Hogarth (English, 1697-1764): Industry and Idleness. Engraving on paper. Engraved by F.F. Walker, from the original design by Hogarth in 1833. Framed. The last scene from a series of 12 engravings created by William Hogarth in 1747, charting the careers of two City apprentices. Created to send a message to working children of the possible rewards of hard work and diligent application and the sure disasters attending a lack of both.

13.5x14.5 inches framed.

Very good condition, the paper is lightly toned.

NOTE: If documentation is not listed, the lot is sold without documents.

Please refer to our Terms and Conditions prior to bidding. Color fidelity of photos presented is not guaranteed. Lack of a condition statement does not imply that a lot is perfect. Please examine photos, read descriptions, and contact the Gallery with any questions prior to bidding. All sales are final.
