Estate Chinese Archaistic Jade Dragon Lidded Vesse - Estate Chinese carved jade lidded vessel with an elaborate archaistic design inspired by traditional Chinese ritual forms. The stone displays richly mottled brown, russet, amber, cream, and olive tones, with darker areas emphasizing the deeply carved decoration. The flattened vessel is extensively carved on both faces with symmetrical scroll and geometric motifs over finely crosshatched fields. Openwork dragon-form handles project from the upper sides, while additional curling mythical creatures frame the lower portion of the body. The extensive carving continues around the sides, giving the vessel a sculptural appearance from multiple viewing angles. The removable fitted cover is particularly elaborate, surmounted by an openwork dragon or qilin-form finial above additional archaistic carved decoration. Together, the carved mythical animals, symmetrical patterns, and flattened vessel form create a striking presentation associated with Chinese archaistic decorative arts.
