Bidspirit auction | Antique 6-Lever Bronze Padlock With
Antique 6-Lever Bronze Padlock With Key - Heavy antique bronze/brass-toned 6-lever padlock with original-type iron key, exhibiting substantial period construction and a richly aged surface. The rounded lock body is assembled with visible rivets and a thick dark iron or steel shackle, giving the piece a strong utilitarian and industrial character. The face is prominently stamped “6 LEVERS” in two locations and bears additional partially legible stamped lettering and numerals. The accompanying dark metal key is stamped “80” and remains attached to the lock by an old multicolored braided cord. Photographs show the key inserted and the heavy shackle released from the body, providing a useful view of the lock's mechanical construction. The contrasting warm bronze/brass plates, dark iron components, exposed fasteners, aged patina, and colorful cord give this lock considerable decorative appeal in addition to its interest as an example of early security hardware. Well suited to collections of antique locks and keys, architectural hardware, mechanical devices, industrial artifacts, or period utilitarian objects. Dimensions: Approx. 2” x 3.5” Weight: Approx. 227 grams Reference #: AB1041 Antique condition with extensive age-related patina, oxidation, scratches, rubbing, discoloration, darkening, and general surface wear consistent with age and use. The braided cord is worn and frayed in places. The key and shackle show oxidation and handling wear. Although the photographs show the key inserted and shackle released, continued mechanical operation is not guaranteed. Please review all photographs carefully for condition, markings, and construction details.
