Otagiri Ceramic Anthropomorphic Rabbit Storage Jar - An Otagiri glazed ceramic storage jar modelled as an anthropomorphic rabbit character. The figure is depicted standing, wearing a wide-brimmed textured straw hat and a lavender-coloured dress featuring a repeating four-petal floral motif and a large relief-moulded bow to the reverse. The rabbit holds a large orange carrot with green foliage. The piece is of two-part construction, comprising a hollow base and a lift-off lid formed by the head and upper shoulders. Hand-painted and transfer-printed decoration throughout. Produced in Japan.
