Sterling Silver Civil Service Motoring Association Road Rally Medal 1939, 8.13g - A Civil Service Motoring Association Ltd. (CSMA) award medal, likely intended as a watch fob. The item is constructed from sterling silver and features decorative vitreous enamel. The obverse displays a central relief-moulded winged wheel motif, a traditional symbol of motoring, set against a circular ground. This is surrounded by a blue enamel border inscribed CIVIL SERVICE MOTORING ASSN. LTD. The medal is surmounted by a detailed crown featuring red and white enamel work and is fitted with a suspension loop at the top. The reverse is flat and bears the engraved inscriptions ROAD RALLY, 1939, and the name E. G. CLAYTON. It is stamped SILVER on the reverse, with additional small hallmarks that are worn and illegible.
