Price & Kensington Treacle-Glazed Teddy Bear Biscuit Jar - A vintage relief-moulded earthenware biscuit jar manufactured by Price & Kensington, Staffordshire. The vessel is designed in the form of a seated anthropomorphic teddy bear wearing a polka-dot bow tie and cradling a smaller bear cub in its left arm. The lower front section features the word BISCUITS embossed in relief. The entire piece is finished in a rich, mottled brown treacle glaze, also referred to as a Rockingham-style glaze. The bear's head serves as a removable lid. The underside of the base is incised with the maker's mark P & K. and the phrase MADE IN ENGLAND following the curve of the foot rim.
