Winchester US Model of 1917 30-06
The M1917 Enfield, “P17 Enfield”, “American Enfield”, formally named “United States Rifle, cal . 30, Model of 1917” was an American modification and production of the British . 303 caliber P14 rifle developed and manufactured during the period 1917-1918. these 1917 rifles were the primary U.S. Army and USMC service rifle used throughout WWI and many saw service during the early days of WWII, making original unaltered examples very scarce. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S./MODEL OF 1917/WINCHESTER/73498. The muzzle end of the barrel is correctly stamped with the Winchester markings of "W/US Ordnance Bomb proof/1-17". The left receiver rail is stamped with the ordnance bomb followed by a circled five point star. The rifle is in very good condition, showing normal signs of use and wear. Please see the photos.
