Colt 1911 SOLOMON ISLANDS .45 ACP
The faux ivory grips are excellent. The left grip is marked with a commemorative scene & wording. The right grip is marked ''WWII 50th Anniversary'' around the Rampant Colt logo. The left side of slide is marked in threelines 'IN HONOR OF THE BATTLE OF THE SOLOMON ISLANDS 7 AUGUST 1943 **** 5 AUGUST 1945''. The right side of the slide is stamped ? GOVERNMENT MODEL? and the right side of the frame is stamped ?SI-035?. Bore is excellent. Factory sights. Comes in an American Historical Foundation World War II Footlocker Wooden Commemorative box and is sold with all of the original and corresponding paperwork. Please see the photos
