1998 UK Royal Mint History in the Making Brilliant Uncirculated Nine Coin Collection - A collection of nine coins issued by The Royal Mint in 1998, presented in an illustrated folder titled History in the Making. The set comprises the circulating denominations of the United Kingdom for that year, all featuring the fourth circulating coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley on the obverse. The collection includes a bi-metallic two pound coin (Standing on the Shoulders of Giants design), a nickel-brass one pound coin (Royal Arms), and two cupro-nickel fifty pence coins (Britannia and the EU commemorative design). The lower denominations include cupro-nickel twenty, ten, and five pence pieces, and copper-plated steel two and one penny pieces. The reverse designs include works by Bruce Rushin, Eric Sewell, and Christopher Ironside. The coins are housed in their original blue card presentation folder which provides details on the designers and the history of the Queen's portraits.
