Art Nouveau style polychrome bronze effect dragonfly and lotus vase - An Art Nouveau style vase of tapering organic form, attributed to Veronese Design. The vessel is decorated in high relief with a naturalistic pond theme, featuring a large dragonfly with intricately textured wings positioned over a lotus seed pod and aquatic grasses. The reverse side depicts a budding lotus flower and lily pads, with the base of the vase formed from a cluster of overlapping foliage. The piece is finished with a deep brown patina and accented with cold-painted polychrome highlights in shades of verdigris green and dusky red. The rim is irregularly shaped to integrate with the foliate motifs. Height: approximately 31.5 cm.
