J. Bouyssou Painting - - An original oil on canvas painting by French artist Jacques Bouyssou (1926-1997), depicting a bridge over a river and 2 people walking along a riverside track. Signed lower right and inscribed with the title to verso. In a large frame. Title : ”Le Loing a Nemours” Jacques Bouyssou was the only son of Justin Bouyssou, an art dealer in Honfleur. Through his father he met artists such as Othon Friesz, Raoul Dufy, Lagar Leprin, who became his mentors. Bouyssou studied at the Troyes School of Fine Arts Architecture and drew with the sculptor Janin. He moved to Paris and became a pupil at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière . Bouyssou's first exhibition took place in London in 1955. The following year, Katia Granoff invited him to exhibit in Paris. It was the beginning of a long relationship. In 1961, he made his debut at the Salon de la Marine, and in 1973, Bouyssou was appointed ”Official painter of the French Navy” . He has exhibited internationally in places such as New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Taipei, and Caracas, and his works are in various museums including the Musée de la Marine in Paris and the Musée Eugène-Boudin in Honfleur.
