Antique Amphitrite Jug - - A rare Amphitrite stoneware jug, by makers Charles Meigh & Sons. The Amphitrite jug was the last jug to be registered by this great company. It depicts rich Neo Classical iconography featuring Amphitrite Goddess of the sea, she is bordered by tritons riding on dolphins, whilst blowing on conch shells to calm the waves. Finished beautifully with a silver plated lid. Circa : 1860 - 1880. Condition : Used, no chips or cracks, wear to silver plating, overall good. Dim : 31cm (H)
