Large Antique Stein - - A unique extra large antique stein, hand crafted in stainless steel. The main body is cylindrical with a flared base for stability, & a brass slightly domed hinged lid. A liner has been added to the interior which aids insulation and prevents any metallic taste from affecting the beverage. This type of lidded stein was common in the 18th & 19th centuries, to protect beverages from dust and other contaminants. In more recent times during iconic festivals like The German Beer Festival, where such steins would easily accommodate 1 litre of German Beer. Condition : Used, liner has some discolouration, the stein shows signs of use and wear commensurate with age, overall good. Dim : 25cm (H)
