Antique Foot Warmer - - A rare antique Dutch portable foot warmer, a traditional heating device. Popular during the 18th & 19th centuries & commonly used in carriage rides & unheated churches beneath the pews to keeps worshippers warm during prayer time. Consisting of a copper box for the storage of the coals, attached to a copper heat plate, a wooden cover with ventilation holes rests above and a turned wooden handle for transportation purposes. Circa : Late 19th century. Condition : Used, signs of historical insect damage, treated March 2025, signs of use and wear commensurate with age, still functional, overall good.
