Seikosha was the original name of Seiko, the renowned Japanese clock and watch company. This indicates the clock uses a Japanese-made 14-day mechanical movement, meaning it needs to be wound every two weeks. The strange mixture of a British Smiths-branded exterior with a Japanese Seikosha movement inside suggests this model might have been produced during a post-war collaboration or export period when Seikosha movements were used globally.
