African Mask - - A rare traditional African Dan Mask, displaying regular features including a lozenge like mouth evoking plump lips and slit eyes both of which are a constant in Dan Masks. Adorned with a hairstyle of thick braided raffia, and shell decoration to the top of the head. Dan people originate from the Ivory Coast & Liberia off the West coast of Africa. Their masks are highly valued for their spiritual and artistic significance. This fine example comes from a private collector, and boasts an abundance of character and mystical charm.
