African Tribal Mask - - A genuine traditional African tribal mask, the red painted face with almond shape eyes & narrow mouth are typical of Baule or Guro masks, originating from the Ivory Coast in West Africa. The mask incorporates animal motifs a goats head to the bottom, symbolizing agriculture, fertility and sacrifice. The top features 2 hornbill birds which are sacred in many African traditions, often representing communication with the spirit world. This wonderful mask was pre loved by a private collector.
