Arabic Face Veil - - A genuine antique women's face veil from the Harb people of the Saudi Peninsula, circa early 20th century. It comprises eight main strips of cotton textile alternately dyed with indigo and henna. The strips have been sewn together with the joins sewn over with tiny silver-alloy beads. A head strap is made out of animal suede. The veil has then been decorated with numerous other silver alloy chains, bells and dangles. The central nose is decorated with some more pendants including an antique Arabic coin. The base of the veil has been decorated with a fringe of dozens of strings of silver-alloy beads. The piece is professionally displayed in a modern glazed frame. Condition: The frame is in excellent condition. The mask displays some natural wear commensurate with age and wear.
