Admiral FitzRoy's Barometer, often called a ”FitzRoy Barometer” or ”storm glass,” is a historical weather forecasting instrument associated with Admiral Robert FitzRoy (1805–1865), a British naval officer, hydrographer, and meteorologist. He is most famously known as the captain of HMS Beagle during Charles Darwin’s voyage. Designed for practical weather forecasting, especially for sailors and coastal communities. FitzRoy was passionate about reducing maritime tragedies through better weather prediction.
