Chinese Wedding Collar - - A framed antique Chinese silk wedding collar. This unique piece was masterfully hand stitched in silk. The design is a large, symmetrical floral medallion composed of two layer, an inner ring of cream petals and an outer ring of coral-red lobes. Each lobe is richly embroidered with varied figures, several lobes depict songbirds perched on branches, a symbol of peace and harmony. One lobe notably features a child-like figure beside a frog, this likely references traditional Chinese folklore or seasonal themes such as spring or abundance.
