Antique Sword - - An antique replica of a medieval Sword with accompanying Scabbard. The blade of the sword is straight, single edged and heavily corroded due to age. It has a wide & flat profile with visible fuller (central groove). The tip is rounded due to extensive use in either ceremonial or as a historical weapon. The guard is broad and rectangular shaped, with a grip wrapped in leather. The Scabbard formed from leather wrapped wood, including leather strap attachments one for belt suspension is embellished with brass at the chape. This historical and important piece dates to mid - late 19th century, copied from a Viking or early medieval sword. Condition : Used, wear & faults commensurate with age and use, overall fair.
