Elephant Sculpture - - A heavy wooden sculpture depicting an elephant, hand crafted from solid teakwood/exotic hardwood. It is shown walking with a raised front leg, a popular motif in Traditional African art symbolizing strength & motion. There is a symbolic rider seated on the elephants back also referred to as a Mahout or (Elephant Handler) he holds on tightly to the ears. Stylized with a blend of realism and abstract tribal carving techniques. It is both a decorative and cultural piece of art. Condition : Used, missing its tusks, overall good.
