The Graphic Arts Department of the Louvre Museum holds the drawing entitled Huit chiens dans un paysage, dated 1743 (see last image), catalogued by this institution as a school by Jean-Baptiste Oudry (RF 51005), where the relationship between the dog that appears in the design we are dealing with here and the one located further to the right of the Parisian composition show a clear compositional relationship.
