Anonymous Filipino ca. 1900 - Philippine cane - A handmade staff made of oriental wood with fine inlaid mother-of-pearl decoration. The finely carved handle depicts the head of an exotic animal with reddish eyes and the remains of its original teeth. The shaft or shank has turned parts in the wood alternating with quadrangular spaces, decorated with schematic representations of suns or plants. Filipino work, circa 1900. The contera is missing. Measurements: 100 x 13 cm.
