Recliner, signed KRIEGER, late 19th c. - A two-piece piece of furniture designed and made by the prestigious French house of Krieger, a decorative reference in the main European and Middle Eastern mansions of high purchasing power, Krieger's headquarters were located at 74, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, with a branch at 27, Rue du 4 Septembre. Other prominent branches in Europe were in Nice, Lille (France), Bucharest (Romania), Cairo, Alexandria (Egypt, Sharia Kasr-El-Nil) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). Signed with a stamped seal on the reverse (see image). Fine cabinetwork in cedar wood (interior of drawers) and ebony wood (details on the front). There are some small antique faults in some of the finials. Measurements of the upper body: 197 x 78.5 x 45 cm. Measurements of the lower body: 86 x 85 x 53 cm. Total measurements: 283 (height) x 85 (width) x 53 (depth) cm.
