Joseph-Charles de Blézer (Ghent 1828–Paris 1884) – The Fisherman - De Blezer was a Belgian sculptor who became a French citizen. A student of Auguster Clésinger (Besançon 1814 - Paris 1883), he participated with various works in Parisian exhibitions held between 1870 and 1881. The present work, which we have titled The Fisherman, is made of calamine on a circular wooden base. Signed on the base: ‘DE BLEZER.’. There is a break at the height of the figure's right ankle.  Measurements: 60 cm (total height); 52 cm (height of figure); Base 23.5 cm (diameter) x 8 cm (height)
