Francisco José Echauz Buisan (Madrid 1927-2011) - Untitled - Stamp ed. 18/155. Signed in pencil in the lower right corner. ”Echauz”. Measurements: 71,4 x 52 cm (support); 92,5 x 69,7 x 2,7 cm (frame with glass). Provenance: Madrid, Alfama Gallery. Trained at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Fernando and at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Gráficas, between 1955 and 1959 he was on a scholarship at the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. He later obtained a professorship at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Fernando and was awarded a scholarship by the Fundación Juan March. His work in general evolved from a surrealist postulate to an expressionist understanding in which the submission of the human race to machines was perhaps the great leitmotiv of his artistic legacy. A long list of prizes, medals and exhibitions attest to his artistic recognition. Reference bibliography: Alfaro, J.
