Pierre de Fermat (Beaumont-de-Lomagne 1601 - Castres 1665) was a prominent French jurist and mathematician. It is an original work signed by the French medallist E. Dubois, under the direction of Jean-Pierre-Casimir Marcassus, Baron de Puymaurin (Toulouse 1757 - 1841).
