A pair of ruffs. Spain, 17th century - A pair of silk ruffs. A plant motif featuring a central cluster surrounded by small stems, in reddish tones, on a bone-coloured background, characteristic of around 1650; the pair of plant elements flanking the aforementioned central motif feature a decoration of interlocking rings, elements whose presence here, we believe, pushes the chronology of these pieces back to the early 17th century. We therefore propose a date of around 1600–1650. Sizes: 57 x 17,5 cm (each)
