Dalmatica. Spain. 16th century - A dalmatic with a matching collar; the first is made of black silk velvet with orange brocade strips; the second features an orange brocade strip with a tassel. The large pieces of fabric at the hem are separate from the dalmatic itself. These pieces fit perfectly into the spaces originally intended for them (see last image). Spain, 16th century
