Anonymous French or Italian, c. 1800 Gallant scenes in a palace garden - Pencil and sanguine on paper. The reverse shows two stamps with blue frames, pasted on the paper; one of them has a cross in black ink; the other, ”12” written in pencil, in circa 1900 handwriting. Composition for an unidentified sketch or painting. Several groups of figures stand in a garden next to decorative architectural elements, against the backdrop of a leafy forest. In the centre of the composition and in the background, the façade of a palace can be glimpsed. Pencil is used to fit in the architectural elements and certain parts of the forest.
