18th Century Frisian Chair Clock, Rinse Durks, Grou - An antique 18th century Frisian chair clock. Polychrome painted chair, with two trumpet-playing mermaids on the back wall. Dial with Roman and Arabic numeral indications, moon phase and date display, clockwork with double bell, featuring gilded lead ornamentation and two tin painted angel trumpeters. Clockmaker Rinse Durks (1712-1787), active in Grou. Previously exhibited in Museum Joure.
