19th Century Frisian Gold Purse Frame, Adema Leeuwarden 1848 - An antique 19th century 18 karat (750/1000) yellow gold purse frame. Half curved model, with shell motifs in the corners and three appliqués on both sides, garlands with flowers. On the inside with an inner frame and marked with a running lion, warranty mark, year letter O (1848) and master mark PA above three stars = Mr. Pieter Adema, active in Leeuwarden from 1835 to 1888. Also engraved with initials 'TJR' and dated '1890'.
