This example was part of the international Elephant Parade, an art and awareness project for the protection of the endangered Asian elephant. As part of the 75th anniversary of Dierenpark Emmen, a large-scale Elephant Parade took place in Emmen from 13 May 2010, consisting of 75 large and 75 smaller elephant sculptures displayed throughout the city as an open-air exhibition.
