ALBERT KESSELRING
(1885 - 1960) Field Marshal in the Luftwaffe and at Nuremberg was tried for war crimes. Death sentence commuted due to ill health. Good association A.N.S. to his attorney during the Nuremberg Trials Hans Laternser, 1p. 8vo., May 16, 1946, reading in part: 'Attorney at Law Dr. Laternser...I remind you of the documents. I ask to talk to you today...' Kesselring signs twice in pencil: once 'Kesselring' at the conclusion, and adding at the top-left 'Feldmarshall Kesselring'. Very good. Laternser played a prominent role in the High Command Trial, acting as the de facto lead defense counsel for the entire group of defendants - all former high-ranking personnel in the German Wehrmacht.
