FRIEDRICH WILHELM OF PRUSSIA
(1882 - 1951) Eldest child of Wilhelm II, and the last Crown Prince of the German Empire and the Kingdom of Prussia. Wilhelm became crown prince at the age of six, retaining that title for more than 30 years until the fall of the empire on 9 November 1918. During World War I, he commanded the 5th Army from 1914-16, and was commander of the Army Group German Crown Prince for the remainder of the war. I.S.P. in pencil, 7 x 8.25 b/w on a 11 x 13 in. (sight) photographer's mount, a seated pose inscribed in German at top with a large signature at bottom, 1927. Double-matted and set into an ornate gilt wood frame.
