HAILE SELASSIE
(1892 - 1975) Emperor of Ethiopia, also known as Ras Tafari, he was responsible for great reforms in education and the modernization of the nation. Idol of the Rastafarian religion. Blue ink signature on an index card, 5 x 3 in., adding the date '1954', all written on top of an affixed Ethiopian postage stamp bearing his portrait. Fine. Sold with a 1954 photograph of his visit to the United States, 8 x 10 in. glossy b/w, and a color photograph bearing his waist-up portrait in uniform.
