A large and impressive cordiform gilt silver Asyk Pendant, Turkestan, Teke Tribe - 1880-1900 - Worn originally also as a hair ornament. The heart-shaped Asyk Pendant is adorned with fine scrollwork and zigzag filigree on its borders. Inset with 7 carnelian cabochon and a larger carnelian in the center. 3 hanging rings on top and a tubular element for stringing. the piece is cut, engraved, soldered, gilt, pendants dimensions: 27*16 cm weight: 370 grams * In Turkestan just as in Europe, Hearts were to be a show of eternal love.
