A large and impressive cordiform gilt silver Asyk Pendant, Turkestan, Teke Tribe - 1880-1900 - Worn originally also as a hair ornament. The heart-shaped Asyk Pendant is adorned with a gilt floral design and geometric filigree work on its borders and in center. Inset with a large orange stone in the center (defect). A tubular element for stringing on top. the piece is cut, engraved, soldered, gilt, pendants dimensions: 24*15 cm weight: 230 grams * In Turkestan just as in Europe, Hearts were to be a show of eternal love.
