A massive rare and important gilt silver Tumar amulet pendant - Turkestan - 1880-1900 - An enormous triangular-shaped pendant, inset throughout with large carnelian stones. Finely gilded and engraved (on both sides) in organic motif. Upper triangular element terminating with floral motif elements and two massive elements on the sides. Impressive amulet container in center (doesn't open). The lower part is decorated with openwork in floral design. on the bottom 5 floral shaped pendants and silver strands with gilt silver pendants inset with drop-shaped carnelian. A leather strap embroidered with gilt silver ornaments connects on one side. (missing leather threading) Minor loss on one end of amulet container.
