A gilt silver headdress ornament - Uzbekistan / Turkestan 1880-1900 - Partly gilt. Comprised of two rows of punched silver plaques. The upper row is fully gilded and on the lower row, every other plaque is gilded. Plaques set with coloured stones incorporated in the rows. A hook attached to the upper row. Tassels hang down from the lower row. Hooks on the side are used for attaching to the garment to a headdress. The piece is wrought, punched, gilded and soldered. length: 55cm weight: 238 grams
