important gold embroidered Jambiya - Middle east / Yemen - 19th century - The hilt of the Jambiyah is crafted from a horn. Gold and silver applications wrap around the hilt of the dagger.  The sheath of the dagger is composed of leather, silver and gold stitching. Fine scrollwork on the silver sheet on the upper part of the sheath. Below is fine real gold stitching.  length: 27 cm  length of blade: 15 cm  Islamic 19th century
