French fireplace clock made by JAPY - Clock is on a black marble base, figure of a woman knitting made out of pewter, France, 1890 approximately.  Face made out of porcelain Roman numerals, stretching mechanism (works) key is attached.  Artist signature on the mechanism, numbered and signed including a medal for winning the clock competition from 1850. height: 37 cm, length: 46 cm  in a general good condition for its age, signs of a fix and a crack to the marble.
